SUMMARY

Two senior Justice Department officials resigned Friday, a day after Civil Rights Division chief Harmeet Dhillon stepped down. John Eisenberg, who led the National Security Division, oversaw terrorism, espionage and leak cases, including the prosecution of former national security adviser John Bolton.

Jason Reding Quiñones, U.S. attorney for the Southern District of Florida, is also leaving after bringing charges against former Cuban President Raúl Castro and overseeing an investigation into former CIA Director John Brennan.

Attorney General Todd Blanche praised Reding Quiñones’ fight against violent crime and trafficking. The departures follow Democrats’ midterm sweep, which handed them control of Congress.
